We had a great attendance for our first club meeting of 2019. Thank you all who attended. The following items were discussed:

The new field location is:
164 Essie Walker Rd, Newnan, GA 30263

New field rules will be in effect:

• Hours of operation are dawn to dusk. Electric only before 8am and after 8pm.
• No open flames are allowed at the field, this means no smoking is allowed. 
• The gate entrance must be locked at all times. Members will be given the combination to the gate and will be expected to lock the gate after they enter the field. 
• No more than 25 vehicles at any time are permitted near the runway and shelters

An advisory board committee will be formed that will help with the following field topics:

• New Membership On Boarding
• Flight Safety Instruction
• Field Improvements
• Fun-Fly’s and other Fund Raising Events
• Determines Discipline for Repeat Offenders of Field Rules

Several members volunteered at the meeting. More information about this committee will be posted on our website as we form it. 

Before we can begin to use the field, the GA EPD has mandated the club perform the following field improvements:

• Establish road and parking area consisting of 6.0 OSY geotextile fabric overlaid with 4” graded aggregate (asphalt millings).
• Install concrete slabs for the club shelters
• Install protection barriers to the landfill venting system 
  

In order to fund these field improvements, estimated to be around $7000, the club will be changing the dues to the following fee schedule:

• Initial Membership
  
  • Initiation Fee: $150
  • Membership Dues:
    • Single Member
      • $150 yearly fee unless:
        • Over 65 years or age: $130
    • Family Membership (includes one adult and unlimited children under the age of 18)
      • $200 yearly fee unless:
        • Adult Over 65 years or age: $180
          
          
• Renewal Membership
  • Single Member
    • $150 yearly fee unless:
      • Over 65 years or age: $130
  • Family Membership (includes one adult and unlimited children under the age of 18)
    • $200 yearly fee unless:
      • Adult Over 65 years or age: $180

Please note: All members for 2019 will be considered “Initial Membership”. 

Members are asked to submit their payments before the end of February so that construction can begin.
